A septic blower is a very important part of the septic tank of your water waste management system. Sanitation is an indispensable discipline for anybody in today’s world. Septic treatment systems are a detrimental part of your sanitation system, vital to any unit or facility. They are the best way to deal with your waste water management. There are two types of septic systems you should have knowledge about before you know how a septic blower will help you. They are explained below.

Conventional Septic Systems

Conventional Septic Systems have either one single compartment tank or a double compartment one. The large waste solids that need to be discharged from the facility or unit are collected by this tank, and are then passed on to a different and secondary treatment system. These secondary treatment systems have a common ground where they discharge the waste that is gathered. Be it drain fields, sand filters, mound systems, and so on depending on where your facility is located and how close to the drainage system the tank is placed. These systems do not require a lot of maintenance as modern systems do. They are durable and can last longer. As the waste water is dealt with below the surface, there are not many mechanical components to function their processes.

Aerobic Treatment Systems

A newer and more advanced form of treatment in the waste-water management system is the Aerobic Treatment System. These are equipped with a multiple chambered tank or multiple tanks containing different chambers. The different stages in these chambered tanks including the collecting tank or the trash tank, the aeration chamber, and a settling tank. Most of the modern treatment systems also have a fourth tank for the purposes of disinfection, which is highly vital. This fourth chamber can also double as a pump chamber, which uses either chlorine or ultra-violet for disinfection. This converts the discharge into clear and odorless water. The aerobic treatment system can collect waste and then even discharge it into a ditch, a pond, a spray irrigation system, or a drip irrigation system. The engineered tanks make the system very efficient in the way it works.

Septic Blowers

The septic tank functioning is easy to understand once you understand all of its elements. If you want to know how septic blowers help you, you should know that these septic tanks use microorganisms to process their waste. This waste includes both solid and liquid waste of the household or facility. These microorganisms are good news because they eat up all the harmful pathogens present in the waste before it is discharged into the environment. Both anaerobic and aerobic microorganisms participate in this.

Conventional or traditional septic systems have typically in-oxygenated environments which are home to anaerobic  microorganisms. But aerobic ones require oxygen to thrive and process the waste effectively. This is the role of septic blowers. They transform a traditional septic system into a small-scale waste-water treatment facility. A septic blower blows air into a holding chamber in the septic tank. The air allows for the growth of aerobic bacteria as they thrive in oxygen. And this aerobic bacteria break the waste water down finishing off the harmful pathogens. This produces effluent odorless discharge that does not cause any harm to the environment.

Aerobic septic tank systems also use the septic blower to pump air into the main tank of the waste-water treatment facility. Because of the septic blower, the air mixes with the tank’s solid and liquid wastes. This process is called septic tank aeration. The oxygen in the air blown keeps the aerobic microorganisms alive. Therefore, they catalyze the digestion of the waste.

Therefore, without the septic blower, your septic tanks will not be able to produce environmentally friendly waste due to the oxygen they provide for the bacteria to thrive. Some septic systems are available with in-built chambers that handle pre-treatment of the waste. But they can be expensive or difficult to find. And septic blowers are easy to fit into the septic tanks you already own. Therefore, a septic blower will help you have proper sanitation in your waste-water management system.
